This first experience at a Dutch secondary school gives me the opportunity to teach havo and vwo classes. Next to that I have an acess to explore lesson materials, share experiences with teachers and learn more about the Dutch educational system.

As an English teacher, my team and I equip the students (aged 17 up to 23) with the necessary English skills based on various English teaching materials. As it implied above, students in preporatory classes take two consecutive years an academic English that helps them to prepare their educational courses, for example essay writing, paper writing, book summary etc. when they join University. At the same time, I guide one class of students as a homeroom teacher. In contact with their parents, I help them maintain and not to become a dropout. I do this by having several talks, in which listening the real need of the student is so essential. To understand their problem, you have to understand the situation the student is in. Show less
