Supervisory Contract Specialist
Current• Manage Department of Defense (DoD) contracts and related operations for contracts valued at over $600B; support strategic sourcing, supply chain management, material cost reduction, supplier negotiations, and streamlining of purchasing operations.• Direct team of 10 Contract and Procurement personnel, determine success metrics, assign project duties, collect status reports, provide ongoing training, and lead regular performance reviews; built cohesive unit that produced high-quality results and supported projects effectively. • Craft and deliver training and development plans, focus on contract management, vendor relations, reporting, and dashboards, and lead ongoing work audits to review deliverables; ensure staff is up to date on all mission-critical policies while building knowledge and engagement with latest procurement best practices. • Spearhead relationships with key suppliers, including Government, Logistics, Supply, and Maintenance vendors, partner with stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions, develop new relationships with key leadership, manage communication via phone and email, and work closely to identify and resolve issues with orders; built strong working relationships that enabled improved pricing and favorable terms.• Drive ongoing financial analysis and reporting, review pricing on all contracts, track KPIs to develop effective pricing, and ensure total costs of items are accounted for; maintained favorable costs and decreased operational spend while keeping leadership up to date on the progress of all programs. • Lead review and approval of contracts, analyze the scope of work, determine appropriate contract terms, review vendors and stakeholder amendments, and update contracts as necessary.• Oversee ongoing briefings to Senior Leaders, Command officials, and civilian directors communicating the corporate meeting and engagement updates, and act as liaison to contract management teams and vendors.
