Halios. Demetrios’ last appointment was a seventeen-year tenure with the Taxation Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus. Prior to that, he was employed in the private sector for seven years by two of the “Big4” international audit firms.During his professional career Demetrios gradually accumulated a wealth of knowledge and a highly specialized skill-set in a number of areas that were directly related to and entailed by his duties and responsibilities within the Ministry of Finance. In particular he was actively involved in drafting and implementing domestic tax policy, gained considerable exposure in international tax matters as well as dealing with and pro-actively addressing state budget issues. Over the years, he developed a robust and highly credible personal network, both in the private and public sector, of exceptionally high calibre professionals in their respective fields. The professional sectors that are holistically covered by his network of close personal relationships include international taxation, management consultancy, real estate investments, corporate advisory services as well as several other closely related market segments.Other appointments of Demetrios include a number of years of participation at the ICPAC, ending with the position of Vice-President. All such appointments were after election by the members of the Institute.
