I am a third year Teesside University student, studying Multimedia Journalism (BA Hons), with the hope of forging a career within a fashion retail company’s Head Office or becoming a Visual Merchandiser for a fashion company. Within my course I have learnt skills including news gathering, news writing, page layout and design using Indesign, Photoshop, Wordpress and Wix

I have recently returned to my position at New Look, and have been given far more opportunities than I ever had within the four years of being at both New Look and River Island. I have since been given the responsibility of being an Administration member of staff, which means that I am trusted in both taking the tills off at the end of the night, being in charge of the safe keys, which gives me access to both the money in the safe along with the tills which I cash up. Alongside this, I have expressed an interest in learning how to visual merchandise, which has since been taken into consideration by a number of Manager’s and they have given me the opportunity to do this. After showing that I had an interest in a specific area of the store - the jewellery and accessories section, I have been given the opportunity and responsibility of being in charge of it all, which includes me having to merchandise it every time we get a delivery.
