About Dena Hurst

I currently work with public and non-profit organizations to help them develop a culture of innovation based upon leadership, learning, and processes.I have worked with state and local government organizations in Florida for the past 15 years through the Florida Institute of government. I began working with non-profit organizations 5 years ago.My work is based on applying philosophical teachings to real world issues, and in particular applying the leadership ideas of the work of Ray Jorgensen, Peter Senge, and Ed Schein, and the principles of cultural change from the writings of philosophers such as Paulo Freire and John Dewey.My current primary projects through the Florida Institute of Government include managing Florida's Certified Government Chief Information Officer program and the Institute's e-learning initiatives.Specialties: Leadership development for individuals and teams, coaching, curriculum design, and applied philosophy
