Denali Baker is a Connecticut based music composer who began writing at the age of 7. She shifted from creating piano melodies in her basement to writing string orchestra pieces at the age of twelve. She currently studies at Boston University, majoring in Music Theory and Composition. During her time at university, she has had her orchestral and large ensemble pieces read and recorded by multiple ensembles, such as the Boston University Chamber Orchestra, Sound Icon, and the MiVos String Quartet. In 2021, she won second place in the Riverwalk International Organ Composition Competition. She went on an exchange program at the Royal College of Music, where she studied and immersed herself in the Screen Scoring program. She spent a summer participating in the New York University Screen Scoring workshops, where she practiced her craft under the guides of professional composers in the industry.Most of the music she has written is inspired by the exciting, fantasy soundtracks she grew up listening to, but she is also passionate to learning and adapting her music to various musical styles.
