Blockchain University provides blockchain related technical classes and events for developers and the startup community. Instructors for our genesis class are founders, CTOs and software engineers from Block.io, Chain, Blockcypher, Reddit, Koinify, Skuchain and Ethereum.

I recently completed General Assembly's Web Development Immersive bootcamp. This course covered HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript via NodeJS, ExpressJS, and Angular, Ruby via Ruby on Rails, and much more. I joined after a year and a half of trying to learn web development (Ruby on Rails) on my own, and GA delivered. I had specific learning goals when enrolling and they were all met by Week 8. We were assigned 3 projects for the class and I decided to build out ideas that would help me learn what I wanted to learn. The first was Tic Tac Toe Challenge, where users can challenge each other in a friendly game of Tic Tac Toe...... for Bitcoin. I wanted to learn the Blockchain API, and was able to implement automatically created Bitcoin wallets. The project was built with NodeJs backend, using Jquery on the front end. The second project, a group project, was Eat Cheat, a nutrition logging and tracking tool, which allows users to create and log meals, build recipes, and get a daily breakdown of macronutrient calories. This project was built using Ruby on Rails and we used Nutritionix, an API that pulls data from the USDA in order to do so. I handled much of the AJAX functionality, as well as mapping out our database models, which my experience in Ruby OOP helped with. We also used D3js to display the nutrition data. My final project is an overhaul of http://www.cornerback.training. in order to make it more user-specific, user-friendly, social, and through gamification, create an integrated marketplace, connecting athletes and performance trainers through high quality training programs. I'm building this project using Angular, Rails, and Bootstrap. (Work in progress...)
