For as long as I can remember, people have been asking me, "Dennis, what do we do now?". As a child, I found this quite bizarre. Why am I always being asked for game ideas and plans to win games from other children? This confusion persisted until I was found to be dyslexic as a teenager. To my surprise, this turned out to be the root cause of one of my talents. The brain of a dyslexic does not walk through the warehouse of knowledge in your head to section 32, shelf 4, but takes the scenic route through that warehouse. This means that when dyslexics ask their brain for ideas, their brain says "well, we were looking for A, but we also came across B along the way, which might work better". This means that dyslexics have an almost unfair advantage in innovation and creativity. On the other hand, taking the scenic route for every sentence you read makes reading a fair bit slower. I am currently in top form because I seek out places that can use my creativity, adventurousness and conscientiousness. From taking calls at the emergency call centre and quickly forming a plan for a solution, to proposing innovative solutions in the test lab. Now I am studying logistics. As you can imagine, this is exactly where I fit in. A degree full of: "We have a problem in a system with 100 moving parts. Dennis, what do we do now?".
