As Democracy & Liberation Manager I lead the Political Engagement Team in LUU. My key responsibilities lie in engaging every student in LUU's democratic processes and delivering liberation to all students. This involves overseeing the external speaker process, providing support and guidance for protests, rallies, vigils and other political campaigns, overseeing the ongoing LiberateLUU campaign, and project managing LeadLUU, our sabbatical officer elections, as well as LUU's contributions towards NUS. This is a vibrant role that involves working closely with students and adapting to rapid change.

I handle representation and engagement for the 14,000 international student members here at Leeds University Union. My primary aim is to create an inclusive and welcoming campus culture that celebrates the diversity of our international student population, increases knowledge of global news and culture, and fosters a Global Community environment amongst UK and international students. This involves delivering key internationalisation and globalisation based projects, supporting sabbatical officers, contributing towards elections and campaigns, and the creation and delivery of LUU's Global Citizenship approach.

As an English Teacher for ZBU, I built my own curriculums, organised all aspects of examinations, assessments and the marking scheme framework, and hosted a face to face conversation club twice a week. Since the start of the pandemic my work moved online, and I used virtual learning environments and interactive materials to teach my students online.

I was a teacher and cultural ambassador for the Japanese government on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme for four years. This role required adept cross-cultural interpersonal and communication skills, sensitivity to student needs, and flexibility to work according to differing cultural norms.

Featured in National Geographic Traveller after coming Runner Up in the Nat Geo Travel Writing Competition 2017, I was regular contributor to Tokyo Weekender, Gaijin Pot Travel and The Gibraltar Magazine and was featured in Calentita, The JET Coaster, Kent Review etc

I organised all aspects of a popular weekly event for The University of Kent, which hosted published literary authors for a reading and Q&A session.

Wise Words was a community outreach programme run by Canterbury Festival which involved postgraduate students working with 15 to 18 year olds seeking asylum in the U.K. The aim was to produce enriching creative works for publication.
