Counselor, International Student Programs
Current• Provides academic, career, and personal counseling to international student population.• Develops and teaches online and hybrid courses in College Success. • Develops and presents workshops to students on topics such as transfer, academic success, and adjusting to life in the U.S. • Gathers data and collaborates with department to identify program improvements.• Delivers services including orientation, evaluation of placement scores, course placement, and educational and career planning. • Advises students on college admissions and transfer process, including college search, completing transfer requirements, and applying to schools. • Monitors academic progress and counsel students on probation.• Plans and coordinates community building activities for international students. Additional Roles and Projects: • Grant Management Support for California Apprenticeship Initiative, Child Development and Education Grant • Resource Allocation and Program Planning; Secretary Winter 2024• APASA Executive Board (2020-2022); APASA Scholarship Reader; Scholarship Awards support with fundraising and events.• Equity Champion Awards Co-Chair for Equity Action Council (2020-2023).
