Dr. Denice Mock; DSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Illinois University, Masters Degree from Aurora University and Doctor of Social Work from Aurora University’s George William’s College 2017: Identifying and Workings with Parents With Intellectual Disabilities. Dr. Mock has over 20 years experience in Child Welfare and has worked with the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in a number of capacities. As a trauma therapist for families of child abuse/neglect, her work has taken her through a plethora of experiences, including counseling for individuals, parents, families, children and those with special needs; conducting seminars, providing continuing education units to caseworkers, professionals, and foster parents. She is an adjunct faculty member through Aurora University’s George Williams College and opened ParentsWithPromise, LLC in 2012, later to be known as A Promise For Parents 501(c)(3) becoming the first agency dedicated to working with parents with intellectual disabilities and their families in the state of Illinois. In 2015 she was awarded the Alexander Tymchuck Award for Excellence as an Emerging Leader in the Field of Working with Parents with Learning Difficulties.
