Reporting to the VP or CEO, as required, the Director, Finance & Corporate Services contributes across all aspects of the business performance of the Foundation, encompassing financial management, general and development operations, information management, human resources, and corporate governance, privacy, and affairs.The Director, Finance & Corporate Services is a key member of the Foundation’s Management Team,providing leadership and support on strategy, planning, financial and administrative issues, implementing advantageous practices and business models to drive sustainable growth and Foundation efficacy.The position provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to a team of professionals in the finance, giftprocessing, and business systems functions, to optimize “back of house” support toward achievement ofthe Foundation’s fundraising goals and strategic objectives.

The Associate Director is responsible to manage all accounting services functions and required to be a utility to Foundation staff regarding receipting, accounting and other tax and finance related policies. Manage and ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) rules & standards.Oversee all accounting functions:-Effectively manage all accounting team functions-Accounts payable-provide direction and ensure payment procedures are followed-Treasury; supervise cash management function-Fund accounting; provide direction surrounding fund account process -Grants management; ensure grants are made in accordance with donor restrictions-Develop and review General Accounting and Tax Receipting policies and procedures -Timely and accurate revenue, expense, grants and fund reporting to SKF and HSC and all other stakeholders-Provide leadership and supervision to the Accounting teamIncome tax receipting:-Ensure Revenue Canada rules regarding tax receipting are implimented and followedQuarterly & Annual audit:-Year end & Quarterly audit; Manage and coordinate the preparation of all audit shedules contained in the audit package. Manage all aspects of annual audit with outside accounting firm.  Verify supporting documentation is accurate and ties to trial balance/financial statements and investigate any discrepanciesCompliance-Provide direction and address any accounting compliance concerns brought forward-Be a utility to the foundation with regards to Canada Revenue Agency regulations and guidelines.
