Even though the main goal is to develop the product, still from time to time we as a team encounter different challenges not related to code. Thus, in Videoly I do different things: develop solutions, hire engineers, support customers and solve their problems, devops and help to manage the design process as well.The stack we use Node.js (Express, Adonis), MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Angular.js, Ember.js.

I joined Videoly as a Fullstack software engineer to help tackling a wide set of challenges. One of the major projects I happen to work on was Videoly Widget, which is essentially a piece of JS code embedding video content and served to a number of hundreds of customers. Starting from maintenance and further, I participated in most of the development happening around the widget, thus I happen to take ownership of this part of the project and started leading its technical roadmap. As was mentioned, the project included many challenges: high-load associated requirements (high availability, scalability, fault tolerance), code quality requirements (maintainability, extensibility, clean code, testing).

The project I worked on was a control panel for remote terminals. The terminals would accept money from clients and run a game, the end result of which might have been a prize. The panel UI would allow admins to see the status of the remote terminals, their cash balance, the prizes availability status and other aspects of the system. Started as a Fullstack engineer, I first started to maintain the existing functionality and was able to develop a couple of features before I left the Loyalty Group company for Videoly. The solution was made on Ruby on Rails on backend and Bootstrap + Backbone + Marionette.js on frontend. All the technologies were new to me when I joined the team, but I succeeded in finding my way to fast learning the new stack and complete a few new features.

I was working as a Frontend Engineer at Jump Creative Agency on several projects, from very simple few-paged websites, to ecommerce stores and platforms. We had a high level of quality, so the requirements often included such criteria as pixel perfect approach, mobile-first development, responsive layouts, parallax effects. I managed to succeed in implementing all the crazy ideas of the design department, which was a great challenge back then.During the time at Jump, I worked with modern CSS stack — Sass + Foundation CSS, jQuery and pure JS. It was a great place to start the career, and I value the acquired skills from my time in Jump.
