During my tenure at the Borough of South Coatesville, I spent much of my time in RIGHTING THE SHIP. When I joined the Borough staff in July 2007, I replaced the former Manager who was hired as the "initial" Manager in the Borough during the early years of the decade. As a former Town Administrator from a small community in up-state New York, he really did not understand the Local Government operation(s) in Pennsylvania.To his credit, he tried to learn the new form of Local Government and working with a Borough Council of seven Council Persons did not fit well with his New York background. Much of my first hundred days in the position entailed corrective activities and budgeting adjustments.My good fortune to have served as a Township Supervisor during the late-70's and into the early-90's was most beneficial in this position, coupled with a strong business background from my stay in the corporate world.When I returned to the Consulting Business in early 2011, my days in the prior occupations were most helpful.
