I helped customers with any queries they had, aided in dispensing and checked/put away various orders. Much of my time was spent working in the dispensary with the rest of my time being spent on the tills where I served customers. Teamwork was key here, as both these shops were very busy and for everything to run smoothly. I worked here during summers and when I took time out of my course. My communication skills were very important in this role.

As a member of this committee, It is my duty to monitor the actions of the board and ensure that everything is done correctly according to procedure. The board members of Kanturk Credit Union are highly skilled and hardworking, which makes this role mostly a position of observation. The views of all board members are hugely encouraged to be expressed at meetings which makes this a very interesting and informative role. As part of my position I will be undertaking training days and after I finish my position here I should be well Informed on financial services and different aspects of business.

This is a local community Pharmacy which is primarily a dispensary. I gained much experience filling blister packs and made myself familiar with the detailed standard operating procedures. I worked well with staff, who were all very helpful and friendly. As with the other Pharmacies I have worked in, I got well acquainted with the customers and thoroughly enjoyed my time working here.

I prepared blister packs that were required for elderly patients in Nursing homes and those that had difficulty managing their medication. After a number of weeks I became quite competent at it and gained invaluable experience as the Pharmacist was meticulous in assuring accuracy and pointing out any mistakes that I made. I also worked at the checkout which gave me first hand experience of dealing with a variety of customers with different grievances or queries. I was responsible for checking the delivery of drugs i.e. that quantities, dosages and dates were correct. I also occasionally rang suppliers querying any inconsistencies.
