The projects primary goal was the exploitation of our existing technology and during that time the team produced in excess of 300 deliverables to the business.The project involved large amounts of development using the standard desktop build, Outlook/Exchange Server Development/Integration, and the development of a web portal and several Active Desktop objects.Following the phenomenal success of this programme of work, the Society has decided to make this a permanent position and to that end was involved in the recruitment of two permanent members of staff to continue this work.

Consultant [Contract]W H Smith Group Limited, Swindon Jul 1996 - Aug 1996I was employed as a Consultant undertaking work within the areas of Simulation and Risk Management. - Risk Management. This work was linked to their proposed plans to pilot a loyalty card within the Group and was designed to help them maintain control of what was seem as a high risk project within the Group. I developed a fairly innovative approach to risk management that involved a combination of metrics and scorecards to drive a project dashboard. This was formally integrated into their Project Management methodology as a standard approach for future projects.- Simulation. A series of models were developed using Taylor II and I_Think modeling software which simulated both customer activity (and queues) as the till, and computer operations in-store and at the corporate centre. The purpose of the simulation was to establish the impact of introducing a customer loyalty system upon both the technological infrastructure and customer service levels.
