Consultant [Contract]W H Smith Group Limited, Swindon Jul 1996 - Aug 1996I was employed as a Consultant undertaking work within the areas of Simulation and Risk Management. - Risk Management. This work was linked to their proposed plans to pilot a loyalty card within the Group and was designed to help them maintain control of what was seem as a high risk project within the Group. I developed a fairly innovative approach to risk management that involved a combination of metrics and scorecards to drive a project dashboard. This was formally integrated into their Project Management methodology as a standard approach for future projects.- Simulation. A series of models were developed using Taylor II and I_Think modeling software which simulated both customer activity (and queues) as the till, and computer operations in-store and at the corporate centre. The purpose of the simulation was to establish the impact of introducing a customer loyalty system upon both the technological infrastructure and customer service levels.
