Main duties consist of user support and implementation of steel stockist and building maintenance packages to our customer base in the UK. Creation of user manuals, documenting system procedures and development of reports using Crystal Report writer are also a feature. Preparation of data files in Excel for upload at system start-up is also part of my job. I also use SQL Server 2005 and the DataFlex development environment to update data.

Irish Sugar was the major supplier of sugar to the Irish market, supplying over eighty percent of all sugar in Ireland. It closed in 2006 due to restructuring of the E.C sugar industry.Reporting to the Managing Director this position had four very experienced AS400 developers reporting. This plant is highly automated with MES and shop floor systems.

Atlantic Mills a cotton spinner and producer of denim at its peak employed over seven hundred at its Ireland sites in Longford and Tullamore.; Implemented full textiles systems (Project TIM) from Datatex on AS/400.Implemented DEC Vax based machine data collection systems (Barco) with direct data transfer to AS/400 systems. Data was collected directly from production machines and used to monitor throughput and efficiency.Halved IS costs without reducing service levels.15 month period as dual IS / Operations Manager including responsibility for all production scheduling and sales order fulfilment
