KompAkt was a German funded project in University of Potsdam to advance Dielectric Elastomer technology- Invented a novel positioning actuator to significantly reduce production costs of photonics devices – European patent application EP2239792- Co-wrote & negotiated a €600,000/year German government project to commercialise this patent- Developed new, and improved existing, techniques for the production and characterisation of novel advanced materials for sensors & actuators- Investigated new dielectric materials and analysed the results leading to improved actuator performance- Published 3 journal papers and attended an international conference, giving oral presentations on my research- Supervised the research project of a successful M.Sc. student who advanced to a Ph.D. programme- Researched patent prior art, assessed potential for patenting of research results and wrote successful patent- Designed, planned, and taught advanced practical classes (Physikalisches Praktikum für Fortgeschrittene) and taught tutorials to undergraduate and postgraduate students
