About Denisa Lasku

I wanted to be in marketing before it was cool, before it was a trend and before 'Emily in Paris' glorified what a marketer actually does. 🙊Like any profession, marketing has it downfalls and annoyances - where friends and family yell at me over the number of YouTube ads they need to skip before they can actually watch their clip in full 😬 But marketing is way more then that and way more then just pop-ups on social media and websites! When choosing a uni degree, I wanted to study a subject which will allow me to develop and work on a wide range of skills, and not have to pick wither I wanted to study an analytical, critical thinking or creative degree. There are not many professions which allow you to implement such a range of skills - but marketing has that. During in my placement year at Teradata, I was a part of two teams, Marketing Operations and Demand Generation, while still supporting others when needed and leading a monthly newsletter that gets sent to the whole EMEA team 🌍 Through my volunteer work at ALSA I have a creative leeway to plan and structure different events and campaigns which can be adopted onto different social media platforms, alongside my main task of maintaining the ALSA LinkedIn and Instagram business page day-to-day. All of my work has been guided through my studies at the University of Southampton, where I got a first overall and the Deans award 🎓I aspire to peruse a career in social media marketing, especially in the third section, hence my current work at ALSA and actively looking at working in a company with a strong CSR stance.
