I proactively seek and obtain new opportunities to expand the portfolio of Energy, Environment and Worker Health services; lead grant proposal development for Energy, Environment and Worker Health solutions including, but not limited to, funding opportunity identification, relationship building, proposal writing, implementation, and reporting. I consult with external businesses and client organizations of all sizes and types to understand business issues and needs, develop innovative proposals to extend Penn State expertise to address client needs, negotiate deliverables, and provide consultation/training services to include technical expertise such as: renewable energy technologies (e.g., solar, geothermal, biomass, and wind), environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14000 and ISO 50000), energy efficiency, environmental compliance, pollution prevention, health and safety, and research commercialization.

• Provide confidential environmental compliance, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, pollution prevention, energy efficiency, environmental technology development and management assistance to start-up companies and existing small businesses. • Provide on-site environmental compliance and pollution prevention assistance for more than 63 businesses to date.• Provide on-site energy audits for more than 145 businesses to date. • Provide assistance and perform necessary calculations for more than 102 businesses to date for completing federal and state grant applications for energy efficiency, alternative energy, and pollution prevention projects.• Provide one-on-one consulting for more than 372 businesses to date.• Provide information and assistance on regulatory permitting requirements, record keeping, reporting, planning, and best management practices. • Educate business owners on environmental management strategies to reduce environmental impacts and operating expenses using waste minimization, pollution prevention, and energy efficiency techniques. • Develop, coordinate, market, and present energy efficiency, health and safety (OSHA) and environmental seminars to small businesses and manufacturers. • Develop informational materials for small businesses. • Interact with various regulatory agencies having local jurisdiction over environmental protection. • Recruit and supervise graduate and undergraduate assistants.
