Staying busy with the OR, ASU, Endoscopy, Recovery Room and Sterile Processing departments with staffing, budgeting, regulatory compliance, inventory, growth of existing service lines (and looking to create more), capital acquisitions, HCAHPS monitoring and communication, staff education, staff growth, payroll and hard tuned to excel in patient, employee and physician satisfaction!

Having been in OR management for nearly 20 years I opted to begin work as a staff nurse in surgery to gain an upclose and personal perspective on what it is that makes an employee tick. I circulate cases, stock rooms, clean, take call and I listen. I listen to everything and I have learned so much! Working alongside surgeons on this side of the fence is very rewarding as well and I thoroughly enjoy it. What an eye opening experience!

Managed the daily activites of the OR, Central Sterile, PACU, Pre-OP Testing and Endoscopy Departments. Successful in growing surgical volumes. Managed departmental budgets, staffing and productivity. Acquired capital purchases to increase efficiencies in patient care and flow. Developed patient care processes to improve patient outcomes and customer satisfaction. Monitored and reported surgical quality indicators, including first case starts. Effectively maintained surgeon satisfaction leading to more growth. Participated daily in the organizational implementation and use of Quint Studer's Management Principles and Hardwiring Excellence.
