Denise retired from IBM December 31, 2013.Her last role at IBM was Program Director, Analytics Marketing at IBM Systems and Technology Group. She held sales, marketing and management positions at various IBM divisions including Sales & Distribution, IBM Software Group, IBM Systems and Technology Group, and IBM Research. Denise started as a sales engineer in Chicago after graduating from MIT, moved to Houston in 1989 and completed her MBA at Rice University in 1994.For the past 18 years, Denise rotated through marketing roles at the world-wide level, including market analysis, strategy and planning, go-to-market, marketing programs, offering management, business development, and distribution channels. All roles required attainment of business commitments and or annual revenue objectives. One of the most interesting areas was an IBM Research speech-to-speech translation project, MASTOR, which resulted in an humanitarian donation of 10,000 units to former US President George Bush by former IBM CEO Sam Palmisano in 2007. MASTOR also became one of ten Innovation Jam projects selected by the IBM Board for further investment in the same year.Denise's life-long interest is in promoting growth, development and education for youths. She has been an MIT Educational Counselor since 1982, and served IBM in a volunteer capacity as a Campus Recruiting Manager from 1996 to 2006.
