I am dedicated to providing Liberty and Long County residents accurate news and interesting features. We want the Courier to reflect all facets of our diverse community. We are a true, hometown newspaper that upholds traditional journalistic values while embracing the modern world.As editor for the Baldwin Bulletin I wrote and edited stories, supervised correspondents, and designed the newspaper and special sections.As news editor, I edited all editorial content - columns, obits, community news submissions, church events - for the Cuthbert Southern Tribune. I wrote stories and took photos for this small, family-owned newspaper in Southwest Georgia.I covered education, government, schools, crime, Fort Stewart, business, events and public health for the Coastal Courier. As assistant editor for the Walker County Messenger I assigned stories to reporters. I edited calendars, community news, columns, and obituaries. I laid out the weekly paper, an advertising tab and special sections using Adobe InDesign. As a Catoosa County News reporter I covered Fort Oglethorpe and Hutcheson Hospital. I laid out the Fort Oglethorpe Press and Catoosa Plus.As assistant editor for the White County News I covered education, government, environmental issues, economic development, and breaking news. I assisted with layout. I wrote opinions and a column. I took photographs and edited submissions. Reported for the Tribune & Georgian in St. Marys, Ga. I covered crime, government, Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, Superior Court, and business. Reported for the Walton Sun newspaper in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. I covered arts and entertainment, the environment, government and business.As County Clerk for Camden County, Ga., I drafted agendas, resolutions and ordinances and prepared reports and proclamations. I recorded meeting minutes and provided information to the press per Georgia’s Sunshine Laws.
