Provide academic and career counseling to new and prospective students; explains policies, procedures, and program requirements; and assist students in selecting educational and career goals. Conduct orientations, prepare academic and career plans, identify and resolve student barriers, maintain student records, and monitor student progress.Administer standardized testing, review, interpret, and evaluate student assessment results and other information to determine appropriate placement. Maintain records and files on advising activities; update information and pull inactive files.Develop informative workshops and training modules that assist the students with their academic and career goal attainment and familiarity of available support services. K-5 Computer teacher, instruct 28 classes to safely navigate through the Internet, to use Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, Web 2.0 tools and other educational software.Troubleshoot and investigate computer related problems, contact vendors or consultants regarding system or software issues. In house tech contact, manage and maintain 150 desktop computers and printers.Collaborate with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology.

Unfortunately due to the economy, the Holden School was closed June 26, 2009 after 33 years of educating "at-risk" youth.Teacher and Technology SpecialistBegan as assistant to the mathematics teacher, and successfully launched the initial technology program with minimal funding. Implemented educator trainings by providing in-house training to teachers, counselors and administrators, by introducing new tools and techniques. Designed and implemented successful individualized learning programs for students with Traumatic Brain Injuries and well as severe learning and behavioral disorders. Attended weekly treatment team meetings to assess and provide individual treatment plans for students to ensure the highest quality of care and learning.Successfully engaged students in their own learning by helping them find relevance in the material taught.
