Denise McClain is a Director at Abbot Downing. At the firm, she utilizes her estate planning experience to assist client families in developing and implementing their wealth transfer plans and makes recommendations about estate and income tax saving strategies. Additionally, she works with client families to develop their financial goals—including planning for retirement and projecting and analyzing cash flow.Prior to joining Abbot Downing (formerly Lowry Hill), Denise was an attorney at Quarles & Brady LLP, as well as Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP where she focused on estate planning, trust and estate administration, federal and state tax planning and litigation, business transactions, and corporate maintenance. Denise served as the chair of the Maricopa County Bar Association Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Executive Committee and Section in 2005. She is currently a member of Valley Estate Planners, American Association of Attorney-CPAs, Scottsdale Young Estate Planners, Arizona State Bar (Probate and Trust Law Section), American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section), and was a member of the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council. Denise obtained a juris doctorate from the Arizona State University College of Law and a bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) from Arizona State University. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a member of the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. Denise served two terms as president of the board of directors of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (formerly the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation) Phoenix Affiliate and is involved with Ballet Arizona, and the Tempe Community Action Agency, among multiple other charitable organizations.
