I am an educator. My longtime dream was to steer an NPO assisting youth at risk. it is a passion i believe was born out of my frustration being limited as an educator to assist with the youth.Like most of us I've walked a long painful journey of battles and struggles but i did not allow my personal limitations to snuff my passion and burden for youth and those in need. I would find myself erecting temporary stations of assistance and guidance for our youth wherever "life" had landed me. This we have done always using our own resources.Looking on the past 33 years of assisting the youth it can only be God that has built this passion inside of me as my assistance and giving care never came from an abundance of material things and financial overflow. My family and myself would share what we have.Four years ago I got the teachers post in Pretoria and once again the plight of girls living in an informal settlement nearby moved my daughter and myself to put passion and concern into action. We befriended them and formed a girls group. Subsequently Menu has branched out further to other youth in need, boys included at age groups aged 6-19. We named it Me 'n u (pronounced Menu) , meaning "me and you" supporting one another.Me 'n u was 3 years old this year (est. Aug 2014)
