I have 35+ years in education. I have taught everything from 7th grade math to Algebra 2. In the past 7 years I have transitioned to a teacher leadership position. As an instructional coach I had the pleasure of working with teachers in improve student performance. In the last two years as the curriculum specialist, I have continued to work with teachers and have been responsible for district curriculum materials for middle school and district professional development (PD) for middle school math teachers. My first year as curriculum specialist required that those PD sessions be virtual. I did master the technology needed to meet the needs of the district. This year the sessions have been in-person. I have focused on lesson planning, identifying what proficiency looks like, and reflecting on instruction and student performance.
