My journey started 19 year old kid who had no clue what they wanted to do when they grew up. I am close to double that now, and though I have not grown up (This is not a requirement in life), I have grown in to an understanding of who I am as a person and a professional. I am a leader, I am a communicator, and I am forever a learner. The forest is full of trees to explore and maybe a house or two to walk in.What you do not see in the professional experience below: construction, scheduling and office work for both an MD and a DC, cold-calling to sell insurance, hawker/stilt-walker, and nanny, taught me so much more about communicating with people, than did many other roles, but none of those were quite the right fit, they were too cold. So, I went back to school. Law Enforcement was the chosen degree, recently divorced, no kids, living my solo life when I started, then, plans changed. I started a career, got remarried and had a son. This degree and what came with it were too hot, for what I needed at the time. I was starting to develop a feel for the career I had, and knew it had something to teach me, and somewhere to take me.Then all of a sudden, Bing! Bang! Boom! I found it, the just right size for me role; Business Strategy and Consulting. It was like that bowl of oatmeal that was just right for Goldilocks, but what they don't tell you, is that porridge was plain, it needed some cinnamon, raw honey, and black caps. For me that was taking a side step as an analyst and finding my way back to strategy. Along the way, I learned Six Sigma, Agile, SCRUM, how to communicate with technology by writing user stories, and a lot more.
