I am currently seeking a position in School Administration. In 2011 I finished my Master of Arts in PK-12 Principalship from the University of South Dakota. I have over thirty years of educational experience teaching at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I have a degree in School Counseling from Emporia State University and have three years experience in a school counseling position. I attended Emporia State for a BSE in Health, Physical Education and Recreation and also Psychology. I have taught elementary Physical Education for four years at two different districts. I taught Wellness and coached gymnastics, volleyball, cross country and track at Belle Fourche High School for twenty years. I started the volleyball program at BFHS and four years later we were the South Dakota Class A State Volleyball Champions.The last eleven years I have been teaching and coaching at Belle Fourche Middle School and coaching middle school volleyball and track. I have been a member of the Building Learning Team, the 6th grade Collaborative Work Group, and done Professional Learning Community activities. I was the Outstanding Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2012, and the Belle Fourche School District Teacher of the Year for 2013/14. It seems odd to be singled out for an award when I have been surrounded by so many high achieving staff members, and would not be where I am without their collaborative efforts. I am ready for the challenge of improving education by serving as an administrator.
