Member of Court and Finance Committee

Head up Investment Operations teams covering Real Estate Operations, Asset Pricing, Pricing Controls, Investment Accounting Services, Cash Operations and Investment Operations Controls, Global Supplier Management and Business Continuity.

Key areas of responsibility include:• Head up a team of 35 Operations staff split across a number of teams.• Provide support and guidance to Property Accounts team to ensure that the day to day processes are effective and efficient. • Manage the Credit Management and Risk teams to ensure that we are collecting all revenues and limiting the risk exposure to the funds.• Overall responsibility for the Property Systems ensuing that they are fit for purpose, adequately maintained and properly supported.• Ensure Document Management needs for Property are being met and that all legal documents re safely stored and logged.• Manage resources to ensure the capability of the area to meet customer needs. • Manage key relationships with third party supplier, Software suppliers, clients and tenants• Ensure that the Property Operations area processes and procedures are operating within a continuous improvement environment.• Act as Project Sponsor and sit on Steering committee for Projects effecting Property• Keep abreast of changes in the investment environment, in particular legal & regulatory changes, in order to comprehend and anticipate, as far as possible, the needs of internal and external customer base. Communicate to department and incorporate changes into work processes and procedures.

• Co-ordinate financial systems development programme and financials aspects of operational systems development• Manage finance team within the system development programme with overall responsibility for ensuring financial issues are addressed and that interfacing issues are addressed• Working with Group Financial Controller and Corporate Finance Manager to develop and monitor Finance Department’s annual plan. • Responsible for small team of financial systems staff• Adhoc project work such as Business Process Project Manager.

• Involved in a variety of internal audit work throughout the organisation. Audits included, Electrical Retail, Energy Trading, Gas supply and Telecommunications.• Implemented new working practices within Internal Audit department• Responsible for controlling department budget.SECONDMENTSeconded to Man-Web takeover team for 4 months where worked closely with financial advisors and lawyers in the preparation of the bid documents.GRADUATE TRAINEEUndertook CA training as part of ICAS TOPPS scheme. Responsible for carrying out internal audits through out organisation.Seconded to Coopers & Lybrand for a short spell in order to gain external audit experience.
