Oversee the operational performance for 17 homes. Work with the regional team whilst looking to develop the skills, management and leadership capabilities of all care home staff to compliment the vision of St Philips Care.

Whilst at Mimosa Healthcare I was the Nominated Individulal with CQC with responsibility for 24 care homes plus one alcohol/detox unit. I used a hands on approach to visit the sites on a regular basis to review ongoing performance against industry KPI's and this was recognised by CQC as a proactive management style. Agency use was reduced during my management and use halved from 2012 to 2013. Though the majority of use was to cover 1:1 care in one site the remaining majority of use was within approximately 4 other homes and was predominantly registered nurse cover due to the shortage of available nurses. It was due to this factor that overseas recruitment was being initiated with Romania being the first targeted workforce. I oversaw the day to day operational issues supported by a Quality & Compliance Director, a Commercial Director and 2 Support Managers. Each had their defined remit but reported directly to me in areas if compliance, safeguarding, complaints, staff and commercial issues.

Whilst at Four Seasons Healthcare I was responsible for operational support at a regional level for 8 homes. During the 8 years as a Regional Manager I was able to reduce agency to emergency use only, being the first RM Iain my OD region to attain zero agency use and consistently operated at above industry average occupancy. I also delivered person centred care training across the OD region as a whole and completed complex disciplinary investigations across operation directors' regions at the request of the HR Director.
