Denise Zebley, together with her husband Gareth are local owner operators of three senior living communities. One location is in South Lyon, MI and the other two are in Tecumseh, MI. Both locations offer traditional assisted living services as well as specialized dementia care. Their interest in the senior living business stems back to the year 2000 when the Zebley’s joined two good friends whose family had been in the senior living business since the 1960’s. The two couples ventured off on their own with an entrepreneurial spirit to make a difference in the world one senior at a time. Their partners had the industry knowledge, Gareth had the finance and business expertise, and Denise contributed to the marketing and hospitality focus of the partnership. They remained partners until the year 2005 when the Zebley’s started their own campus in Tecumseh, Michigan. Gareth graduated from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business with a master’s degree in business administration. Denise graduated from Trinity College with a major in business, but later in life decided to become educated about nursing for the sake of their senior living business. In 2007 she became a Licensed Practical Nurse, as well as a Certified Assisted Living Director, and Certified Dementia Practitioner. Cambrian could be considered a boutique option within the industry. It is big enough to allow residents to find others with similar interests, but small enough that you know everybody’s names. You don’t have to maneuver down several stories by elevator to find the dining room, you simply mosey down your hallway. In summary, Denise and Gareth commit themselves to offering seniors affordable excellence while simultaneously providing joy in a very individualized manner along the way.
