Currently teaching in our Online Masters of Data Analytics program, working with students across the globe from our family home in Ely, Minnesota. Happy to continue my work with Northwest Missouri State University where I enjoyed my time as a tenured Associate Professor, teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the classroom.Prior experience includes strategic planning systems and the application of advanced technologies to provide real-time information for executives and engineers in the energy, water, and telecommunications industries. Application areas include smart technologies, energy systems, environmental impacts, efficiency improvement, impact analysis, and remote monitoring. Strategic analysis experience includes large planning studies with integrated pro forma analysis, business intelligence and dashboard planning, application design, project management, Monte Carlo reliability, maintainability & availability (RAM) analysis, software engineering, adaptive system architecture, distributed intelligent cyber-physical control system architectures, and information systems for smart infrastructure. Management experience includes developing a successful consulting business and managing teams of subject matter experts and technical specialists. Research interests include computer science education, complex cooperative systems, conversational AI, big data, streaming data, machine learning, distributed multigroup agents, languages and frameworks, civic and social computing, and integrated natural and artificial intelligence.
