Teaching graphic design at a collegiate level is a challenging new facet to my career. The students really do want to learn and improve their skills, and I'm happy to be someone to help them. Being able to combine freelance experience with many years of excellent education is also very satisfying on a personal level.

In a nutshell my “day job” is: creativity done quickly. I design numerous advertisements daily and must know the technical work flow effortlessly. Being able to take a minuscule gif. given by the client and transforming that piece into a large ad is just one typical scenario. Of course, deadlines are an absolute priority.

My committee and I researched, developed and implemented new enriched educational programs for an elementary school. This was invaluable in the sense of working in an environment with various groups (educators, administrators and parents) and having to come together for the betterment of students’ education.

Surrounded by an office of talented and dedicated professionals in the Corporate Communications Department, I assisted with graphic projects for the various departments of the hospital. It was very beneficial to observe the interaction of the print, web and video divisions in accomplishing endless tasks as a team.

While returning to finish school I managed a restaurant. My responsibilities included interviewing, hiring, training, controlling/ordering inventory and keeping the employees and the patrons happy. Managing a group, working with sales reps and interacting with customers has enhanced my experience on a business and interactive level.
