Responsibility for Caterpillar Diversified Products Division includes Global Paving, Forestry, Defense and Federal Products, Tunneling, Industrial and Waste, OEM Solutions, and Work Tools.

Responsible for Caterpillar component development, design and manufacturing of key first fit and aftermarket products including high pressure hydraulic hoses, tubes, hybrid fluid lines, couplings, hose assemblies, rubber components, seals, gaskets, pins, planet shafts, flag pins, mounts, fluids, filters, bearings, fasteners, oil coolers, rims, and tires. Responsibilities include management of 3 joint ventures and 17 facilities worldwide.

Manage and direct all operations for GM’s third largest market; $13B Revenue, 23,000 employees, 20 product programs, 600+ dealers. Execute portfolio renewal to include enhanced technology, improved fuel economy and segment leading quality. Successfully launch 8 major new products and direct the expansion of dealer network in Northern Brazil.

Managed and directed labor relations between General Motors and CAW / UAW unions. Negotiated contractual changes for GM and General Motors Components Holding as driven by GM restructuring and bankruptcy. Managed employee benefits for hourly personnel, including the transition of the retiree healthcare trust for hourly retirees to a third party entity.

Responsible for product execution, development and implementation of global small vehicle architecture in North America, including implementation of coupe, sedan and SUV models with manufacturing footprints in US and Mexico, leveraging GM Korea resources. Developed a business strategy to produce profitable small car in a US assembly plant (industry first).

Flint regional manager for 2 plants: Flint Truck Assembly; assembly of heavy duty full size pickup truck and medium duty commercial truck operations, and Flint Metal Center; blanking, sheet metal stamping and metal assembly operations supplying 18 General Motors plants; managed a diverse workforce of over 3400 hourly, 300 salaried individuals with two local unions.

Responsibility for 3-shift, 60 JPH operation in a multi-facility complex producing light duty full size crew cab, extended cab and hybrid pickup trucks, managing 3200 hourly and 250 salaried employees. Transitioned workforce and scaled operations from three shifts to closure in 1.5 year timeframe due to market demand shift.
