Engaged to project manage the implementation of a new Access HR and Payroll system (end to end from Recruitment through HR to Rostering and Payroll) and to support all the associated change required within the organisation to achieve that. The project work includes process mapping, process design, review and understanding of how the new HR systems will work, the associated procedures required to run the systems, and all elements of cultural change, stakeholder engagement and communication that result from it. In addition I have been responsible for creating and running a consultation process for the entire organisation around changes to terms and conditions. I manage the relationship with the software vendor on behalf of Brendoncare and provide the bridge between the vendor's experts and our own project team of SMEs. Within this not for profit organisation we work with focus, commitment and tight controls to ensure we achieve the implementation to plan and to budget. I manage all the risks and issues, escalating where necessary. I am also able to utilise my previous experience and expertise by offering mentoring and training to my HR Colleagues, not just in the areas of my own remit but across a broad spectrum of HR responsibilities. This is my first experience of working for a charity and in the social care sector and it's been an incredible experience and learning journey. As a consultant I have been welcomed and felt entirely included in a team of friendly, flexible and totally committed Colleagues.

Focussing primarily on the day to day running of our Reformer Pilates Studio and Osteopathy Clinic I managed the many operations we needed to have in place to keep everything running properly and to ensure that we, our teachers and our Clients were properly catered and cared for. As a teacher I predominantly focussed on one to ones, in particular our free taster sessions, but I also covered classes when required. I invested heavily in my own self development on how to effectively run a business. I learnt a lot about Marketing from setting vision and strategy through to value proposition and pricing ladders and into the best ways to execute our plans. Our main marketing was through social media although I also spent a lot of time with local networking groups developing a depth of understanding about the benefits of relationship building and mutual business referrals. Thanks to our strong focus on customer services we also benefited highly from client advocacy. I managed all the day to day accounting, administration, compliance and due diligence and took an overall lead in all the many operational demands of running a physical studio.Sadly our business was unable to fully recover following the COVID lockdowns and despite our very best efforts to survive we had to make the heart wrenching decision to close in May 2022. This was such a hard decision for us and although at the time we felt like we'd failed, we are confident now that through everything, the only failure would have been us not trying in the first place. We achieved a massive amount in the 8 years we ran the studio and helped hundreds of people to feel better and fitter. That's what we want to hold on to and reflect on. Learning isn't always about winning or succeeding, sometimes the best lessons are the hardest lessons.
