Founded in 2012, ToMo had over 10-million active users, over 3200 vendor relationships, and incurred an ARR of $120M at its peak. Overview of my role: I joined ToMo when the company was a mere 6 months old with just a couple dozen employees. In true start-up style, back then everyone did a little bit of everything to keep the business running – co-founders would even help pack up orders for fulfillment. I was the first additional hire to the creative team, supporting the Art Director from daily tasks of product photography, editing, and image uploads to more long-lasting accomplishments such as process improvements, building out the studio, and growing the creative team. In a company that grew to over 120 employees, I ran the Creative Production Department and reported directly to Head of Operations. I determined and executed the creative strategy and collaborated cross-functionally to contribute to defined company goals. I ensured on-brand representation through in-house and vendor photography, video, and copy. I managed, guided, and mentored the Creative Production team. I evaluated, developed, and refined workflows; tracked output; and solved inefficiency problems. I stayed on budget, reduced costs when possible, and upheld quality. It was thrilling to celebrate our first $100,000 revenue day and then on to our first $1,000,000 revenue day.
