My first task was to undertake and implement a Community Service Review in compliance with Section 17a, Local Government Act , reviewing the Council’s Community Services; aquatics, library services, community centre / hub services, sport and recreation, event management, community development and community funding. I am responsible for the operational management of all these services. Aquatic Centre redevelopment and a change management process associated with library services. Currently I am preparing for a change management process as well as the operational delivery of Te Awahou Nieuwe-Stroom a Cultural and Community Centre housing the national Dutch Museum being opened in October 2017. My role includes Council reporting, building a high performing team and positive team culture, budget management, revenue generation, business planning and delivery as well as stakeholder relationship management. The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority was the public service department established by the Government to work with the people of greater Christchurch to rebuild Christchurch. CERA was charged with providing leadership and coordination of the ongoing recovery effort. The Community Resilience Team was focused on planning , coordination, funding and delivery of services related to individual and community psychosocial recovery.

Regional Manager for Family and Community Services(FACS), within the Ministry of Social Development; leading the planning, funding, coordination and alignment of government social programmes and services that support families (including children and young people) and communities. FACS Southern managed social service programmes and funding arrangements delivered by not for profit organisations across the South Island. FACS undertook locality based planning in partnership with councils focusing on social needs and social and community service responses. FACS role also involved monitoring and evaluating service effectiveness , cost efficiency and achievement of positive client / community outcomes.

Kabankalan, Philippines

Throughout December/January I worked with the Kabankalan diocese schools, school communities and associated agencies conulting and researching the development of Child Safety protocols. In October I returned to present a Child Care Safety and Protection Workshop.

Responsibilities included operational planning, leading and managing organisational change, management of auditing and funding administration functions, relationship management with other central government and community organisations, as well as staff leadership, budget management and reporting .

Responsibilities included ensuring compliance with relevant government legislation, auditing, contract negotiation, performance monitoring and service evaluation, associated with not for profit organisations delivering community-based social services. Audit functions included assessing financial management, governance and quality control systems of not for profit groups along with assessing compliance with legislation relevant to the status of the organisation and nature of service provision.

I came in to this role at its inception and responsibilities included development and implementation of Clubs Grants Schemes, event management, fundraising, sponsorship and provision of training in club management and administration. My role also involved sponsorship and event management associated with annual Clubs Days, Blues Awards, Women’s Festival, Madcap Awards Evenings and Cultural Expos . The role also included supporting the elected Council in the achievement of its strategic policy direction.

Responsibilities included community planning, policy development and implementation, delivery of community development and social services, fundraising, sponsorship and administration of Council Community Grants Scheme. The role also managed a community service centre and was responsible for staff and volunteer recruitment , management and training.
