After attending Aveda Institute Atlanta in 2012, I gained my start as a mobile stylist while pursuing an undergraduate degree at The University of Georgia. After obtaining my B.B.A. in Economics and feeling constrained by traditional salon structure, Shear Fire Hair became Shear Fire Salon, in 2017. Again, I faced a need for something greater, something else. I decided to use my gift for numbers, that had matured into an interest in data and coding through my exposure in an Econometrics course. I was accepted into the Georgia Tech Data Science and Analytics Bootcamp in December 2018. The 24 week course was an intense test of my endurance, commitment and natural ability. I gravitated toward visualizations, focusing on HTML, CSS, and Python coding. My experience with graphic and web design as an entrepreneur was evident as I was consistently praised for my web development projects. After 3 years as a consultant data analyst, developing strategic data solutions, I journeyed back to my roots in movement. Now I am a creative movement coach for youth and seniors, while pursuing a dance/movement therapy (DMT) career.My current vision is to provide accessible counseling to underserved children with movement programs. Through community-based work, I aim to destigmatize mental healthcare, encourage artistic expression, and elevate interconnected well-being. I’ll be equipped to offer services as a licensed MFT and R-DMT in the state of Georgia. My ultimate hope is to develop a curriculum that provides resources beyond my individual capacity. Only the future knows how the idea will develop. Regardless of the changes in detail, my passion for movement and love for our youth shall keep me grounded in this mission. "Just try new things.
