I went to college to become a petroleum geologist. I was lucky in that I took geology in high school, which led to a summer co-op working at Amoco in New Orleans. I fell in love. I saw the geologist as the member of the team that had the best job…..they told a story which led to finding a critical resource that filled a need. I wanted to do that.I'm drawn to depositional processes and the how and why they happened. My strength is to use my technical, collaborative and leadership skills to identify the commercial need, pull the relevant data and people together to tell the story and fill the need.During my 20 year career, I’ve had the opportunity to pull whole core of beautiful sand full of oil in the deep water Gulf of Mexico and to be among the first in my company to log core in the tight Haynesville in Gulf Coast. I’ve developed models to identify a new organic rich shaley-silt play in the Eagleford and was on the team that created the initial reservoir based model for the company’s Ghana asset in West Africa. I was the lead geologist working with a data analytics team that drove the creation of a platform that uses data from mudlogs to quickly identify areas of potential and refocused teams to create unidentified value. I went to school to become a petroleum geologist but I've developed into a proven commercial oil finder, team player, mentor, advocate, collaborator, decision maker, entrepreneur, data analyst and general problem solver. This is not a job for me. Being in the energy industry is my passion.
