UC Berkeley's Chancellor Chang-Lin Tien accepted and implemented all of the Committee's key recommendations in 1991, which eliminated significant duplicate and operational costs in both athletic departments and redeployed monies into intercollegiate athletic programs and recreational sports serving all students.
