Owner of Lemonade Public Relations, a small solutions-oriented public relations company in San Diego, California. Lemonade PR provides public relations and communication services on a project basis. This firm was the predecessor to Scatena Daniels Communications.

In this position, Denise provided strategic communications leadership and day to day management for clients in San Diego and beyond. The work performed on their behalf has helped these organizations advance their missions, drive awareness and attendance to fundraising events, and raise critical funds in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.Clients and projects included some of the largest and well-known non-profits in San Diego County: ARC of San Diego, East County Family YMCA, Meals-on-Wheels, San Diego Museum of Man and YWCA of San Diego County. Additionally, she also worked on tradeshows, events and large-scale tours on the West Coast, including Cirque du Soleil®, Disney on Ice®, Head to Toe Women’s Expo (San Diego and Orange County), Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus®, San Diego Boat Show, and the annual tradeshow for the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association. Denise also led and supported public relations efforts for business brands, including Time Warner Cable, Belmont Park, Mission Federal Credit Union, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza, University of Phoenix, and the San Diego Wave House®.

While at voiceofsandiego.org, Denise was responsible for creating the marketing and fundraising strategy for the non-profit news organization. Under her leadership, a significant awareness for the online publication was generated among the mainstream audience and an individual membership program was established.

At Time Warner Cable, she was part of a two-person public affairs team, she managed the company’s signature community outreach initiatives to “make people feel good about paying their cable bill.” She worked with national cable networks such as VH1, Lifetime, National Geographic, Cartoon Network and the Discovery Channel to bring high-visibility programs to local schools and communities. Denise was also integral in the launch of “San Diego On-Demand,” digital cable channel 144, that enabled local video producers and non-profit organizations to share their video programs with a broader audience.
