It take place three times per year in Malta's capital city, Valletta (Spring, Summer and Christmas Fair). Over 40-50 artisans exhibit and sell their work to locals and tourists within the island. Studio Upstairs aims to provide a positive, life-changing intervention for people with mental or emotional difficulties within an artistic therapeutic community.The ambition of the charity is to create a network of sustainable, safe, local studios available to all who need them, as and when they need them.As a volunteer at Studio Upstairs I was responsible for supply of art materials and organisation of the studio; making sure studio members have what they need to make art; build supportive relationships with studio members and be aware of group dynamics and lastly, engage in art making with them in them in studio. I occasionally covered Studio Managers when needed.
