Witnessing many missed opportunities, her desire to help professional athletes make a bigger impact & win in their communities, grew. She founded Outside the Game, a consulting firm in 2014. The company offered education on the sector to active and retired professional athletes and teams, community relations & event management prior to being sold in 2017. Prior to moving to the Midwest, she managed Volunteer Services & Animal Assisted Therapy at Phoenix Children's Hospital. A published author, Denise received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater & studied Design, History & Spanish. After working in both exhibit & retail design for KOHLER Company in Kohler, Wisconsin, she joined Motif and worked as the head of the Hospitality Development Division until the company’s closure in 2008. She earned her Masters in Nonprofit Studies from Arizona State University in 2013. She currently lives in Sheboygan, WI with her husband John and three children.
