I am a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in financial and management accounting. For over 10 years, I was a management accountant for BP New Zealand - a subsidiary of BP Group. My background prior to BP included 3 years in public practice preparing annual accounts and tax returns for various clients in the farming and fishing sectors.Key responsibilities in these roles have included month end and year end reporting, producing KPI reports for senior management, ensuring balance sheet integrity, co-ordinating and preparing budgets, system and process improvements, tax and other statutory obligations, internal and external reporting, auditing and internal control.I am a highly organised, dedicated professional with a disciplined approach to prioritising workloads. I can communicate effectively and build rapport with people from all backgrounds and abilities.Achievements include accurate and detailed reporting to senior management at month end, delivering outstanding customer service and being a contributing member of the finance team.Following BP NZ's Head Office relocation from Wellington to Auckland, I secured two contract roles - senior accountant for the Maui Gas Pipeline and financial analyst at the Ministry of Health. Currently I am in the Financial Management Unit at the Christchurch City Council - local government authority for Christchurch City. My first role covered financial accounting, specifically external reporting for Council Controlled Organisations (CCO's), Council GST & FBT returns, treasury reviews, asset accounting and quality assurance. My second role covers treasury accounting - cash management, forecasting, budgeting, debt and investments.
