In this role, I was responsible for maintaining the stock that would arrive into the store from multiple deliveries from suppliers across the working day. Working in this face-paced industry, I was expected to have a broad knowledge of the various automotive parts available to customers from the range of suppliers across Dublin.

Having the opportunity to be a student maintenance engineer with SK Biotek allowed me to gain insight into the maintenance and reliability environment within a pharmaceutical site. While working with SK Biotek, I applied both theoretical and practical knowledge obtained over the course of my studies along with new skills learned within the organisation, to the various duties assigned to me throughout the duration of the placement. Working as part of a team aided me to understand the processes involved to maintain and prolong life on various equipment and machinery in a cost efficient manner. I was involved in a number of tasks and projects including:Utilising CMMS (Maximo) as a tool to raise and monitor work orders, view asset information, plan and schedule preventive maintenance. Technical writing, including updating Standard Operational Procedures and Operational Qualification Protocols (OQ).Updating P&ID's based on present configurations in the plants. Scheduling and generating work orders for NDT testing on equipment performed by external vendors.Working at SK Biotek and performing these tasks on a daily basis, provided me with a great perception of the pharmaceutical industry which has aided my development and growth as a young engineer.
