Responsibilities include business process analysis & process improvement, requirements analysis and definition, data modeling and analysis, usability assessments and human factors engineering, interaction and visual interface design, information design.

Initially hired as a Human Factors consultant, took a Project Mgr position leading an overhaul of Fios’ web app, Prevail®. Project included a complete redesign of the user experience. In 4 months was promoted to Product Manager.Successfully launched Prevail in Sep ’02 & directed 7 follow-on releases. Lead team of 14 developers & QA folks in integrating a concept search engine, giving Fios a market first, resulting in a Jun '03 Business Week article, “A Supercharged Search Engine for Lawyers.” Promoted to Director of Product Mgmt in Apr '03. Prevail was recognized as the industry-leading e-discovery tool when I left Fios. Transitioned to Sr. Sales Engineering role in Feb '04, gaining experience in corp. sales, selling to very tough customers: high-powered litigators at Fortune 100 companies. Engaging clients daily taught me how to sell complex services and gave me invaluable insight into the user experience, albeit from a completely different perspective.

Greater Salt Lake City Area

Built a global usability team from scratch - hired 5 team members, trained staff in US, Europe, Japan. The Iomega Usability Group now works directly with project teams identifying and finding solutions to usability problems. Designed and built a sophisticated, five-room usability lab facility. Managed an approximate $750,000 annual budget. Supervised on average over 50 usability projects per year, or over 100 rounds of usability tests/evaluations/research projects, etc.Drove usability testing and user-centered design processes into Iomega's Product Life Cycle (PLC). Introduced new methods to expand the Usability Group's offerings: Contextual Inquiry, User/Task Analysis, Early Prototype testing, Heuristic Evaluations, Point-of-Sale box testing. Managed and scheduled over 20 usability projects at a time. Specific projects included Iomega's first CDRW drive, the first generation Clik!™ drives, and the redesigned Zip 250™ drive. Contributed to Six Sigma projects.
