Responsible for the “Zuidplaspolder” project; a project which serves as an expansion of TenneT’s high voltage network and aims to provide electrical power to the region in order to solve congestion and facilitate the growth of local businesses and new residential area’s. The project is part of TenneT’s EU303 program, a significant and relevant challenge to expand the high voltage (HV) network of the Netherlands, in order to accomodate and transport the growing amount of (sustainable) electrical power. Mobilis and CroonWolterenDros (SC&M, Samenwerking Mobilis & CroonWolterenDros) are part of this program. Project Zuidplaspolder consists of the expansion of the HV-station at Bleiswijk and the construction of a new HV-station at Zevenhuizen. Both sites are connected by new underground HV-cabling (not in scope). The project is divided in two phases; an engineering phase and a construction/commissioning phase. The latter was contracted in Q1 2023. Before this, site preparation and soil-improvement for Zevenhuizen had already started in June 2022.

From December 2018 to April 2020, the role was mostly the same besides from the change in organization and role title. During this period, my team produced the Preliminary Design and we prepared for the tender for the renovation contract. From December 2019 to April 2020, I was part of the tender team of the Municipality.After contract closure in April 2020, the alliance between the Municipality of Amsterdam, Siemens Mobility, B.V (now Yunex traffic) and Heijmans Infra, B.V. continued the project for the renovation of the Piet Heintunnel. The starting point for this full-scale alliance is the start of the final design phase. From this moment, the design team increased from some 20 to over 70 engineers and staff. As a result, my role became more and more (project) managerial. The scope of the role has increased further as well, now including implementation of advanced 3D-modelling / BIM (and digital twin) for verification, validation, simulation and training purposes, the design and production of the central control desks and the realization of 2 test environments (integration and acceptance).

Responsible for the integral design of all technical subsystems and civil objects within the scope of the renovation of the Piet Hein Tunnel, one of the largest city tunnels in Amsterdam. Main reason for the renovation is for the tunnel to become compliant with the more strict tunnel law (active as per May 1, 2019). The second reason for this elaborate renovation is to renew all technical systems that have become end-of-life. Besides being responsible for the design, I am also responsible for the migration of a number of technical subsystems prior to the start of the full scale renovation.

Project Manager for project "Stationssystemen", one of the projects for the realization of the North-South subway line in Amsterdam.
