Actually employed as Web Architect / Lead Developer at UNESCO, responsible for the developments of the main integrated web platform and coordinating the related projects.I received my PhD titled "3D and semantic web: new tools to document artifacts and to explore cultural heritage collections" at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in 2013, under the supervision of Prof. M. Cord and Prof. F. Niccolucci.Previously I worked as Scientific Researcher at the Science and Technology in Archaeology Research Center (STARC) at the Cyprus Institute from 2008 to 2011 and at the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France from 2003 to 2008. I've participated in a number of EU and national funded projects on IT for 3D and digital collections. I have excellent skills in 2D and 3D data acquisition, image analysis and processing and data management, including ontologies and semantic web, on which I have published a number of papers, edited few proceedings and given conference lectures.I have contributed to the publication of two books about the findings of Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" painting and I have collaborated with contemporary artists to create artworks and exhibitions.I'm member of Europeana v1.0 project as external expert, of ICOM-CC, I have been Business Strand Coordinator of the EU funded project 3D-COFORM and independent expert at the European Commission.I am/have been chair of various scientific, international workshops, and I'm member of various scientific committee and referee for Journal of Optics A, Computer & Graphics, IEEE Intelligent System and Journal of Computer for Cultural Heritage.I am able to work alone or as part of a team, with good team management experience.Specialties: Linux expert, good knowledge of various *nix, Windows and MacOS, 3D, 2D, image characterization, semantic web, ontology mapping, project management.
