Scientist with aptitude for coordination of the international and interdisciplinary teams and high sensibility to environmental and societal issues. Particularly good at: (1) assuring that an multicultural and professionally inhomogeneous group of individuals builds a common vision and reaches the key goals with minimal friction losses; (2) establishing a pro-active communication and information sharing culture in a team; and (3) recognising and resolving the crisis situations, challenges and opportunities before they jeopardize a work at hand.Since 2005, I have initiated and led several highly successful multi-disciplinary projects and managed large international research teams involving ICT researchers, modellers, environmental scientists, environmental agencies, and crisis management professionals from most EU member states, Norway, Israel and Switzerland. Examples:- CLARITY project (principal investigator and coordinator) is developing a screening service for climate change adaptation planing and a marketplace for recommending the expert services based on screenign results- DRIVER+ project (architect and main developer of Portfolio of Solutions and Trial Guidance Tool) is developing a pan european test bed for Crisis Management capability development, a Portfolio of Crisis Mangement Solutions and a method for defining and conducting the trials to test how these solutions answer the stakeholders' needs. - CRISMA (principal investigator) has developed decision support applications for preparatory phase of the crisis management.- ENVIROFI (principal investigator) concentrated at introducing the enviromatics and geospatial services in the the European "future internet" initiative;- SANY project (principal investigator and coordinator) concentrated at improving the capabilities and interoperability of the observation networks;
